Default VF Digital Scavenger Hunt III

The time has come for the 3rd Annual Visions Fantastic Digital Scavenger Hunt which will be taking place at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California on Saturday, September 13th, 2008! Below you will find all the details. As in previous years, the top prize will be two Deluxe Disneyland Annual Passports for the winning team along with other great prizes for other the top five teams! Please make sure you read and fully understand the rules before contacting me and sending in your entry fees and team information. (Links to the registration page is at the bottom of this page)


Now for the details:

This event will take place inside the *Disneyland Resort on Saturday, September 13th, 2008 from 9:01 am to 4:00 pm with a mandatory one hour break at noon. All teams are to meet in the picnic area to the left side of Disneyland’s main entrance at 8:00 am for event check in. Then at or near 8:45 am, the teams will be given their VF Scavenger Hunt game booklets. These booklets will contain fifty cropped photos and a list of fifty other items that are located throughout Disneyland. Your booklet will also contain a mystery hunt who's details you'll find out on the day of the event. The teams will search the park for all of these items and take a digital picture of there items.

* = Park admission is not included in your registration. You are responsible for entry into Disneyland, along with all associated costs (parking, food, beverages, etc). No items will be located inside DCA, so you will NOT need to purchase a Park Hopper ticket. However, there is a chance that we will try to get a group to go into DCA after the event for a meal or the go on some attractions.

Now this is a game for a team consisting of two people with at least one of them a current member of Visions Fantastic in good standing. Only the two people on the team may search the park looking for the items. Visions Fantastic event volunteers will be scouting the park for teams that are asking for help from anyone else, including Cast Members. Again, this is prohibited. All the rules listed below must be strictly adhered to. Any team found to be deviating from any these rules will immediately be disqualified and have their Scavenger Hunt booklets removed from their possession. Please make sure that you fully understand these rules before submitting your entry. If you have any questions regarding the Scavenger Hunt, please PM Cavemandon prior to sending him your player information.




Official Rules:
  1. Each team must send in their team entry fee of $35 prior to Thursday, August 14th, 2008.
  2. Each team must PM Cavemandon with the following information: Team name, VF screen names, real names, email addresses, camera type, and memory card type. If the team information is not sent, the VF Staff will disqualify the team and return that team's entry fee minus any PayPal fees.
  3. Children under the age of 16 may enter the game, but they must bring with them a written permission letter from their parents before they can begin the game. It is important to note that the parents may NOT walk around the park with their kid’s team at any time during the game.
  4. Parents who wish to enter a team into the event who have children must also be aware that any children over the age of five may NOT accompany the team during the actual event. They are welcome before and after, but not during.
  5. Cavemandon will send each team member a PM confirming that the entry fee and team information have been received.

Now for the rules during the game:
  1. You must take pictures of the items listed in the booklets. Only one item will count in each picture and you must get EXACTLY what is asked for, not something similar.
  2. Points are awarded for every correct photo of an item is taken. The different point values will be listed in their respective sections of the booklet.
  3. Before starting the Visions Fantastic Scavenger Hunt III, we ask that the first photo be taken of yourself to better identify your team and the card.
  4. Teams are allowed to use only one (1) digital camera that uses a single removable memory flash card.
  5. No cell phone or non-flash memory card type cameras may be used.
  6. Only one (1) flash memory card may be turned in per team. Be sure that you have enough space on it.
  7. No "backup" cards will be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS
  8. The above stated flash memory card must be turned in along with the team's booklet at both the noon and 4:00 pm check in to be judged. These memory cards will be returned to the players after the judging has been concluded.
  9. All photos taken become the property of Visions Fantastic and will be deleted from the memory flash card.
  10. Any team that fails to check in at the designated check in locations at both the noon and 4:00 pm cutoff time will automatically be disqualified.
  11. No photos may be taken on or in any area where it is clearly stated NO PHOTOGRAPHY or NO FLASH PICTURES. Any photos that the judges find haven been taken in any of these areas will not be awarded any points, regardless if they are correct. To note, there are no items located where in these areas.
  12. However, some items may or may not be located where the above photography rules do NOT apply. In fact, some items can only be located while on an attraction or in an attraction’s queue.
  13. All items are located inside Disneyland Park. There are no items located in Down Town Disney or Disney’s California Adventure.
  14. No photos may be taken outside of the Disneyland Resort.
  15. No team may ask for or receive ANY assistance from ANYONE including other Disneyland Resort guests and/or any Disneyland Resort Cast Member for ANY reason. Any team found asking for or receiving assistance will be immediately disqualified and their team’s booklet will be confiscated. Teams will be provided with card explaining the event and why you, the team players, cannot talk to them.
  16. No electronic devices may be used at ANY time during the event, besides the single digital camera of course. These items include cell phones, PDA devices, walkie-talkies, GPS units, etc. Any team found using any of these banned devices by a Visions Fantastic event volunteer will have their score disqualified.
  17. All teams must obey any/all Disneyland Resort rules and regulations at all times. Teams may not enter into any area where normal park guests are not allowed to go.
  18. Above all other rules listed above, please do not interfere with any other Disneyland Park guest. Don’t ruin their day by trying to get in front of them to take a picture of something.
  19. As a participant of the VF Digital Scavenger Hunt III, you are acting as a member of Visions Fantastic. Please act in a way that reflects professionalism and pride in the website.
T-SHIRTS


Also available to all the players are event T-Shirts for $25. These shirts will feature the event logo on the back, with the players name and the Visions Fantastic Logo on the front. These T-Shirts will be available in either ash gray or white only. We are still working on dark color shirts. If the players wish to purchase an event T-Shirt, they can purchase the shirt at the same time they are sending in their entry fee or at any time prior to the event entry cutoff date of Thursday, August 14h, 2008. These T-Shirts will be available for pickup at the 8:00 am check in. No shirts will be available for purchase on the day of the event. It is requested that anyone ordering shirts PM Cavemandon so he knows what size and color... :)

Payment for your registration and T-Shirt can be done at the VF Payments Page. After submitting your registration, contact Cavemandon with your details as soon as possible.


Refunds:

Any team needing to withdraw from the event and that are requesting a refund must do so prior to Thursday, August 14th, 2008. No refunds can be honored after that date. Any refunds requested will be sent via PayPal and will be for the amount paid less any PayPal fees.

last year my husband and I signed up and then didn't get the info that the meeting place in the morning was changed! We were so bummed watched everyone walk around the park all day. This one is the day after our anniversary, so we are coming to try again! We're actually going to the park a week from tomorrow so we're going to make sure we pay attention to EVERYTHING to get ourselves familiar with the little things :)See you all there!!
