Hi! I'm Harasttam! This is a joint profile for myself and my husband. We live in a little town in Idaho. We love Disney! Our friends and family think we're a little weird, but it's nice to know that there are other who share our love of Disney culture. :)

Hi! I just found this site a couple of days ago. Long time Disneyland fanatic. I'm planning a trip for October, so my Disneyland fanaticism is a little more then usual lately. Anyway, I'm glad I found this place, looks fun and full of interesting Disney fans like me!

Wow! Long thread! HI EVERYONE! :)

I stumbled onto the forums tonight while googling around about Imagineering. Seems like a neat place, so I thought I'd stick around a while and say hello. :)

I'm 28 and from Alaska. My primary hobbies are reading, writing, and exploring, and I hope to return to school very soon. If I can hack it after so much time gone, I'm aiming for an engineering degree. (Why, yes, I do dream of someday being a Disney Imagineer. But engineering, even without the Disney bits, just seems really cool, so mostly I'm aiming for the degree and the career, and the Imagineering bit is a dreamy wish my heart makes. :) )

The only Disney park I've been to is Disneyland, and I love it. It's easily one of my very favorite places on earth. Lately I've noticed that I can tell when I'm having a rough day, because I start daydreaming about when I can visit again. I would love to visit the other parks. Someday! :)

Specific Disney-ish interests include: Walt himself, pin trading (I'm not very hardcore, just a small collection, but it's fun! I've never actually traded face-to-face with anyone in the parks, though... I'm too shy), the original Mickey Mouse Club, Belle, Snow White, Stitch, the history of the parks, imagineering and the how-it-all-works-together of the parks, and oddball factoids that I can share with my mom when we visit the park.

Favorite rides/attractions include the Enchanted Tiki Room, the Asimo demonstration, the Jungle Boat Cruise, Indiana Jones, the Haunted Mansion, Star Tours, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Monorail. The performers and castmembers are definitely another favorite part of my visit.

Anyway... not sure what else to put, but hello, everyone! I'm looking forward to poking around here and getting to know the place. :)

Welcome to you, Northern Belle!

I look forward to your input here on the site! You'll be able to find a lot to help you on your Imagineering quest. Take a look at the "So You Want to Be An Imagineer?" Discussion Board and see if anything comes in handy!

Welcome to visionsfantastic.com!

Thanks for the welcome, cap10hook72! I have to admit, I stayed up WAYYYYY too late last night wandering around that very board. Looks like fun! Speaking of that, do you know how often the So You Want to Be An Imagineer competition I saw there comes up? I'd love to jump into something like that. :)

Well, Ms. N. Belle, I only know that it goes on when I don't know it's going on! I've missed it unfortunately But looking at older competition boards, it definitely looks worth while

Be patient, or maybe go to older competition boards and ask when the next one will be. I'm sure someone will tell you! Good luck finding out!

Hey guys, my name is A.J. I am a disney world cast member and disney geek. I have always been a disney geek. When I was a kid I would do nothing but watch disney movies and try to learn everything disney. I use to live in california when I was a kid and my family would take me to Disneyland alot. I loved going to that park all the time and I fell in love with all the rides there and the characters. I moved when I was 5 to the east coast but every summer I went back to disney to see my family and go to disneyland. I never went to Disneyworld until I joined the Walt Disney World College program last year. I also had the chance to take a little vacation to Disneyland while working for Disney World. It was interesting to finaly compare the differences. I use to be in merchandise at the Magic Kingdom and later went into entertainment. I love both parks but disneyland definetly has that special feeling. Every time I walk into that park I feel something magical and I think its because I know Walt built that park. He was there. I walked in his footsteps. That is about all of my disney history. I got this job at disney because I have always wanted to know how Disney runs and makes the magic for all of its guest. I think i finally found that answer out. To quote Walt Disney "You can design, create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality"

Welcome to you A.J.! It's always great to hear stories from the parks from someone as experienced with the two of them as you are! I look forward to many more

Welcome, and enjoy VisionsFantastic.com

P.S.-- I agree with you: Disneyland is the more magical park to me for much the same reasons as you---
